| 1. A reminder to prune spring-flowering shrubs immediately after blooming. |
| 2. Prune the now finished spring-flowering perennials: keeps them healthy for next year. |
| 3. Time to shop for bedding plants for best selection: plant up your window boxes and stuff patio containers full of your favourites and set out, weather permitting. Monitor the weather and, if necessary, provide a little night protection. |
| 4. Plant out tomatoes, corn, beans, melons, cucumbers, etc. |
| 5. Apply a slow-releasing fertilizer to lawn. |
| 6. Deadhead spring blooming tulips and Daffodils. |
| 7. Plant out dahlia tubers. |
| 8. Put sticky bands of tanglefoot around trees to deter pests. |
