| 1. Finish planting new trees & shrubs, fall-planted perennials, and bulbs. All plantings must be complete at least three weeks before first frost. |
| 2. Don't forget to water plants close to the house or under rooflines which won't benefit from snow melt during winter. |
| 3. Water lawns and garden again. Clean up perennial beds. |
| 4. Cultivate & enrich in those areas you plan to sow in spring. |
| 5. Dig up tender bulbs for storage; apply bulb dust for disease control. |
| 6. Time to harvest the last of the root vegetables and place somewhere cool and dry for winter storage. |
| 7. Keep leaves raked up to add to your compost. |
| 8. Clear beds of annuals by the end of the month and compost, except for obviously diseased material which should be disposed of. |
