Local grown Bunched Spinach is an edible, flowering plant, native to central and southwestern Asia. It has dark green leaves that are either flat and smooth or curly and crinkled. Both have crisp, fragrant leaves and a slightly bitter flavour. Spinach can be very gritty and must be rinsed thoroughly. Use raw in salad, combine with feta for spanakopita, or sauté in olive oil and garlic for a simple side dish.
