BC Grown Local Strawberries are sweet and delicious with the added benefit of being grown locally right here in BC
Whether fresh or frozen, there’s no denying that strawberries are a popular fruit, but they also pack a healthy punch.
If you’re not already a fan of strawberries, you should be. Not only are they juicy, summery and delicious, they’re a bona fide super food, too. Nutrient-rich and packed with antioxidants (like vitamin C), strawberries offer a wide range of health benefits, some of which may surprise you.
When selecting strawberries, choose a berry that has a fresh green cap, bright red colour and a natural sheen.
Strawberries don’t ripen after harvest, pass over berries that have white shoulders or if the entire berry is lighter in colour. Skip strawberries that are wet or show signs of decay
Store your strawberries in the refrigerator. Remove an hour before eating them – this allows them to warm to room temperature so their naturally sweet flavor can be enjoyed.
Don’t wash your strawberries until just before use.
